Making Jam

We have a tiny mulberry tree out behind our house that came up on its own and started producing berries last year. We picked ~4 cups of ripe mulberries off the tree. Then this morning we went to the farmer's market and picked up some rhubarb so that we could make mulberry rhubarb jam.

Danny thinks the mulberry tree is the greatest thing. He has been telling us "go see the berries" all weekend. And you can see by his purple mouth that he eats them directly off the tree.

Sampling cookies at the farmer's market this morning.
Grandpa and grandma got him a butterfly cookie. He wasn't too amused that he had to wait to eat it so that I could take a picture.
We ran into one of his friends from school, Ellie, at the farmer's market this morning too. They had a good time chasing each other around for a little bit and throwing things down the grate.

The finished product! We got six pints of jam and it tastes sooooooo yummy.
