Easter weekend

Wow, we had a packed weekend! My dad tilled up our gardens and Nate got a lot of it planted this weekend. All that's left are the tomatoes and peppers. We're thankful to have so much done before the arrival of the newest member of our family. :)

On Saturday morning, we took Danny to the Coralville Easter Egg Hunt. There were a ton of kids there...but also a ton of eggs, so Danny picked up quite a few before the wave of older kids came through and cleared out all of the rest. At first Danny was only picking up blue eggs before we convinced him to pick up some others. Pretty cute!

Danny chose Grandpa to help him collect his eggs.

Giving daddy "five" when he was all done.
Checking the eggs for goodies.

We played at the park for a little while after the egg hunt.

Danny enjoyed digging in the garden although he got a little bit upset when he realized he had about an inch of mud clinging to the bottoms of his shoes. We had to get them all cleaned off before he would go back to digging.
We went to the Easter Service at church on Saturday night, where Danny enjoyed his third egg hunt of the weekend. Then we got pizza at Wig & Pen (soooo good!) and ice cream at Dairy Queen.
This morning, we put more eggs out in our yard for Danny to collect. He insisted on wearing his snow boots. :)

Danny dyed Easter eggs with Grandma.

Then, before lunch, we went fishing. It started slow, but we ended up catching quite a few fish. We also found a tiny little painted turtle that Danny carried around for awhile and named Frank. I think Danny would stay out at the pond all day if he could. I'm glad he loves being outside as much as Nate and me.
